At today’s luncheon, we heard from four of our representatives about the bills they are currently working on.
We also heard from Jared Johnson from YESCO sign company, a subsidiary of Young Electric Sign Company. He shared with us the evolution of the billboard sign industry, as well as the challenges they currently face regarding laws in various states. It was interesting to get his point of view.
Representative John Dougall– spoke about his education bill which would essentially create an education savings account for each high school student in the state– similar to a health savings account. Click HERE to read more about the bill.
Representative James Dunnigan– spoke about his healthcare bill and how it would affect Utah children’s dental and orthodontia care. Click HERE to read more about the bill.
Representative Ken Ivory– spoke about his federal lands bill and the impact on that regaining Utah’s federal lands would have on per pupil funding in the state of Utah. Click HERE to read more about the bill.
Representative Jim Nielson– spoke about the state trust fund, and the severance tax amendment bill he is sponsoring. Click HERE to read more about the bill.
We have some great legislators on the Hill who really care about the needs of Utah’s citizens.
Save the date for April’s (April 5th) luncheon where we plan to hear from the candidates running for the Utah State Attorney General position, as well as candidates running for the 2nd and 4th congressional districts.
Thank you to Jessica Christopher for doing such a great job organizing the discussions at our luncheons!
